Synopsis
This article provides information on how to collect logs from Pulse Secure Desktop client.
Problem or Goal
Cause
Solution
Pulse Secure has simplified the log collection procedure with the release of the Pulse Secure Desktop client. When trouble shooting any issue with the Pulse Secure Desktop client, perform the following steps:
  1. Open the Pulse Secure Desktop Client
  2. From the taskbar, select File > Logs > Save As
All relevant logs will be saved on the local desktop as a single file called LogsAndDiagnostics.zip

Additionally, Pulse Secure Support may request for logs in "Detailed" level for specific scenarios (i.e. pre-authentication or authentication issues).  To enable this option, perform the following steps:
  1. Open the Pulse Secure Desktop Client
  2. From the taskbar, select File > Logs > Log Level Detailed
  3. Once this option is set, replicate the issue again
  4. Select File > Logs > Save As
In general, Pulse Secure Support does not recommend enabling detailed level without consulting our support team. Once the issue has been replicated, end users should set the level back to normal.

The Pulse client controls log file size automatically. When a current log file reaches 10MB, a new one is created and the oldest log file is deleted.
