KB27469 - [Pulse Collaboration] "Page cannot be displayed" error when trying to connect to Pulse Connect Secure Collaboration

Synopsis

This article describes an error encountered when trying to launch Pulse Connect Secure Collaboration meetings in Pulse Secure Desktop Client from a URL on a different server. In this scenario, Pulse Secure Desktop Client is pushed from one URL; a user tries to connect to a Pulse Connect Secure Collaboration meeting using /collaboration but gets a "Page cannot be displayed" error message.

This article provides a procedure to correct this problem and enable Pulse Connect Secure Collaboration meeting to launch successfully.
 
Problem or Goal

To recreate this issue:

  1. Create a Pulse Secure Desktop Client connection set with the option "Enable Pulse Collaboration integration on this connection" checked for the role that is mapped to the REALM used for Collaboration
  2. Disable the "This Server" option for the same connection set
  3. In the URL option, input https://mag71.sslvpnlab.com/collaboration which is the Sign in URL mapped to Collaboration REALM
  4. Connect to https://mag71.sslvpnlab.com/vpn and download and install Pulse client
  5. Add a connection with server URL https://mag71.sslvpnlab.com/collaboration and connect to the same
  6. Open Pulse and then try to connect to the Collaboration meeting,User will get a "Page cannot be displayed" error.

 

Cause
Solution

The Pulse Secure Desktop Client connection set for the role which is mapped to Collaboration REALM must have "Enable Pulse Collaboration integration on this connection" checked, and the URL option enabled. To correct the problem, remove the "https" from the URL as seen below under the Junos Pulse connection set.



To configure the Pulse Secure Desktop Client connection set correctly, complete these steps:

 

 

  1. Open Pulse Secure Desktop Client and connect to the Collaboration meeting


 

 

 

  • User will be prompted for credentials:

  • "Page cannot be displayed" error is seen.

 

 

  • Remove the "https" from the URL as below under the Pulse Secure Desktop Client connection set
 

 

 

 

  • Collaboration meeting will launch successfully.
