Synopsis
This article provides steps to verify that a given Web Proxy policy for web resources is correct.
Problem or Goal
Web resources such as web pages or applications which do\do not require the user to go through a separate proxy may fail if the PCS Web Proxy policy is incorrect for the resource
Cause
Solution

If the PCS (Instant Virtual Extranet) needs to go through a proxy to access web resources, then a policy must be configured to allow the access.  To verify that the Web Proxy Policy is configured correctly:

  1. Log into the PCS as an administrator and navigate to Resource Policies > Web > Web Proxy Policies

    proxy policy

  • Select the policy that needs to be verified.  First, check the Resource section.  Make sure that the all the web resources that need to be accessed are listed in the Resources section and are defined correctly.

For more information on configuring resources for resource policies consult the Resource policies section of the Administration Guide for your version of PCS OS

  • Then, check that the roles being used by users are included in the Roles section and that the action includes the correct server.  To verify that the server and port for the proxy is configured correctly, log into the PCS as an administrator and navigate to Resource Policies > Web > Web Proxy Servers

    proxy server

Verify that the server hostname/IP address and the port of the proxy is configured correctly.
