KB22797 - Hob RDP configuration to obtain the name or IP address of the destination Terminal Server option

Synopsis
This article provides information on how to configure the the Terminal Services session to obtain the Name or IP address of the destination Terminal Server, when using the HOB applet.
Problem or Goal
Can terminal session users enter a Fully Qualified domain name, IP address, or remote Terminal Server address to connect?
Cause
Solution
Perform the following procedure in the IVE admin interface:
 
  1. Go to Resource Profiles >Terminal Services > New Profile; The following image is displayed:


     
    1. In the Name field, type the name of the Terminal Service Resource Profile
  2. In the Host field, type the name or IP address of the remote host.
 
  • In the Server Port field, type 3389.
 
  • Select the Create an access control policy allowing Terminal Service access to this server check box.
 
  • Select the Enable Java support check box.
 
  • From the Applet to use drop-down menu, select Hob-Pulse Connect Secure RDP Applet.
 
  • Select the Configure HTML for the default applet check box. Replace the following HTML with the auto-generated HTML code, which is under this option:

    Note:
     
    • << CODEBASE >> is a system value, which will be replaced at the time the applet is launched. Do not modify this value.
  • Modify the remaining values as required.
 
  • Ensure that all the attribute names/values are enclosed within double quotes.
 
  • Select the Always use this Java applet check box to set the Hob-Pulse Connect Secure RDP applet as the default for both Windows and non-Windows platforms.
 
  • Select the Use this Java applet as a fallback mechanism check box to use the Java applet as a fallback method.
 

 

  • Click Save Changes.
 
  • On the Roles tab, as shown below, add the specific role and click Save Changes.

    The HobLink JWT RDP - Startup Settings window is displayed:
     



    Type the Fully Qualified Hostname, IP address, or remote Terminal Server and click Connect to access the server.
