Synopsis
After setting up NAT rules on the vTM, traffic is not properly redirected.
Problem or Goal
Cause
Solution
When working with NAT rules, verify that the rules are implemented in the NAT tables with the command below after making changes under System > Networking > NAT / IP Forwarding > Manage NAT Settings > NAT Rules.

# iptables -L -t nat -n -v
Chain PREROUTING (policy ACCEPT 107 packets, 6836 bytes)
 pkts bytes target     prot opt in     out     source               destination        
    0     0 DNAT       tcp  --  *      *       0.0.0.0/0            10.34.74.80          tcp dpt:3180 to:10.34.74.80:80
    1    64 DNAT       tcp  --  *      *       0.0.0.0/0            0.0.0.0/0            tcp dpt:3190 to::80

Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 108 packets, 6900 bytes)
 pkts bytes target     prot opt in     out     source               destination        

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 1899 packets, 147K bytes)
 pkts bytes target     prot opt in     out     source               destination        

Chain POSTROUTING (policy ACCEPT 1899 packets, 147K bytes)
 pkts bytes target     prot opt in     out     source               destination

Prior to troubleshooting set the packet counter to zero with the command below:

# iptables -L -t nat -n -v -Z

While on the traffic manager do a tcpdump a client ip address filter to verify traffic.  The traffic should attempt to hit the ip address configured for the active virtual servers.
