PCS configuration for ActiveSync:
- In the PCS admin console, go to Authentication > Signing In > Sign-in Policies.
- Click New URL and select the Authorization Only Access radio button:

- In the Virtual Hostname field, type a unique name that maps to the PCS’s IP address. The hostname is used to access the exchange server that is provided in the Backend URL field. Do not include the protocol (for example, HTTP:) in this field.
- For Backend URL, type the URL for the web server. It should include the protocol, hostname, and port of the server. For example, http://www.domain.com:8080/*.
- Select [No Authorization] from the Authorization Server drop-down menu.
- Select a user role from the Role Option drop-down menu.
- Select the Allow ActiveSync Traffic only option to perform a basic validation of the HTTP header to ensure that the request is consistent with the ActiveSync protocol.
Note: If 'Allow ActiveSync Traffic only' is selected, then only the ActiveSync protocol requests will be processed.
Mobile configuration:
To configure Exchange ActiveSync on an iPhone, perform the following procedure:
- Tap Settings and then select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Select Microsoft Exchange from the list.
- Configure the User account and Server details.
Note: Type the 'Virtual Hostname' (that was configured on PCS) in the 'Server' field.

To configure Exchange ActiveSync on an Android 2.0 mobile, perform the following procedure:
- Tap Settings.
- Configure the User account and Server details.
Note: Type the 'Virtual Hostname' (that was configured on PCS) in the 'Server' field.

To configure Exchange ActiveSync on a Windows mobile, perform the following procedure:
- Click Start > Programs.
- Click Menu and select Configure Server.
- Configure the User email address and then click Next.
- Specify the Server Address.
- Configure the User name, Password, and Domain.
- Select the type of data that you want to synchronize and click Finish.
