Synopsis
This article describes an issue when importing a backed up configuration with the error message of 'Unable to decode configuration file'.



 
Problem or Goal
The following error message will appear:
 
Error message:  Unable to decode configuration file.

                Error AD-5

                Configuration import failed




The following message will appear in the System > Log/Monitoring > Admin access log:
 
Log message: Error while unpacking during import system configuration by administrator admin
Cause
This issue occurs when the administrator tries to import a configuration file without providing the password.
Solution
To resolve this issue, enter the correct password during the configuration import.
