KB23303 - How to turn on / off the MAG SM-160 / MAG SM-360 via CMC?

This article provides information on how to turn on / off the MAG SM-160 / MAG SM-360 blade via CMC.

In a MAG environment, you will have individual modules, such as CM-060 and SM-360 / SM-160. CM-060 has a power button, but this button is not exist with SM-160 / SM-360.

• There is power button located on the back of the panel of the chassis.
• To turn it on, you have to press the button and hold for 3 to 5 seconds.

When it is completely operational, the CMC will turn on the installed service modules (or leaves them turned off) depending on the saved configuration.

The saved configuration stores the state that the service modules should be in (either on or off), when the CMC starts. For example, if the service module is set to OFF in the configuration, when the CMC restarts, that service module remains turned off until it is explicitly turned on.

The configuration overrides the current state of the service modules. For example, momentarily push the recessed reset button on a service module to turn it off. If that service module is set to ON in the configuration, the next time the CMC restarts, the corresponding service module will power up.

set chassis fpc :

• Syntax: set chassis fpc number (on | off)
• Description: Turns a specific Flexible PIC Concentrator (FPC) on or off.
  • number: Referring to the number corresponding to the service module
  • on: Turns on the specified FPC
  • off: Turns off the specified FPC

After running this command, wait at least 30 seconds to ensure that the FPC is powered off.
