KB40063 - How to deploy Pulse Secure Mobile Client (IOS) to MobileIron (8.0.0.1) and Airwatch EMM (8.1.2.0)

Synopsis
This article provides steps to migrate the MobileIron and Airwatch connection type from Juniper SSL \ Custom SSL to newly integrated Pulse Secure SSL VPN type.

Modifying the existing VPN configuration profile

If using the VPN profile with the connection type as Juniper SSL or Custom SSL on the EMM servers, please use the following steps to migrate to the newly integrated Pulse Secure VPN type.


MobileIron (Server version: 8.0.0.1-b7, Client Version: 8.0.0.1)

  1. Once logged in to the Mobile Iron server, navigate to Policies & Configs.
  2. Search for the exiting VPN profile which was mapped to Juniper SSL or Custom SSL connection type.
  3. Edit the profile and change connection type from Juniper SSL\Custom SSL to PulseSecure SSL

Airwatch (Server version: 8.1.2.0, Client Version: 5.3)

  1. Login to the Airwatch server
  2. Navigate to Profiles
  3. Search for the exiting VPN profile which was mapped with Junos Pulse or Custom as the connection type.
  4. Edit the profile and change connection type from Junos Pulse\Custom to Pulse Secure.

  1. Select the user Authentication type and update it with the right value.

New VPN configuration profile

Please use the following steps to create a new Pulse Secure SSL connection type.

MobileIron (Server version: 8.0.0.1-b7, Client Version: 8.0.0.1)

  1. Login to the MobileIron server,
  2. Navigate to Policies & Configs.
  3. From the drop-down menu, click Add New
  4. From Connection Type, select Pulse Secure SSL

Airwatch (Server version: 8.1.2.0, Client Version: 5.3)

  1. Login to the AirWatch console
  2. Navigate to DevicesProfilesList View
  3. Select +Add.
  4. Select Android
  5. Select Configuration type as device

  1. Fill in the General Settings and configure the VPN profile with Pulse Secure as connection type.
