KB40522 - Users unable to connect with GINA on and fail Host Checker on Windows 10

This article describes an issue with not being able to connect via GINA integration on Windows 10 due to Host Checker failing.
Problem or Goal
When GINA is configured and users connect on a Windows 10 machine, end user will be presented with the following error message:
Network Connect GINA

GINA cannot reach the Secure Gateway server. Click OK to try connecting again. 
If GINA still fails to connect, check the host name or proxy setting or cancel 
the GINA sign-in process.


End users are unable to connect via GINA integration but can connect manually via the Network Connect client.

The following PCS releases are affected by this issue: 

  • 8.1R9 to 8.1R11.1
  • 8.2R7

Note:  This issue is only applicable to Windows 10.
This issue occurs due to a software bug.
To resolve this issue, please upgrade to in 8.1R12, and 8.2R8 and up.
