The same guidance as given in the
SNMP Monitoring Guide for SA, MAG and PSA devices.
The temperature statistics provided in the admin UI is the CPU temperature, not the operating temperature.
CPU TEMPERATURE SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.12532.42.0
- < 75 deg C is normal
- From 70 deg C, monitor temperature closely as a precaution
- 75 deg C and above is not normal and will fire a trap
TEMPERATURE SNMP TRAP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.12532.251.35
- This is a critical trap when the CPU Temperature is above the 75 deg C threshold
ACTION IF TEMPERATRURE >70 deg C:
- Check the admin UI temperature to confirm
- Check the CPU temperature of other devices in same rack
- Check the fan status in the UI and confirm physically it is operating and the airflow unimpeded
- Check the operating temperature of the location the PSA is located which should be 5°C ~ 35°C (41°F ~ 95°F) for PSA7000 appliances and 0°C ~ 40°C (32°F ~ 104°F) for the others
- Generate a snapshot (with debuglog and config included); save the log files from the appliance and create a Support case with this data
