KB40827 - Failed to establish L3 VPN in Chrome OS with error "Invalid tunnel parameters"

This article provides information when VPN users fail to establish L3 VPN in Chrome OS using Pulse client while receiving the error "Invalid tunnel parameters"

If users are using Chromebook OS with Pulse, when attempting an L3 VPN connection, they are unable to connect and receive an error "Invalid tunnel parameters" on the Pulse UI.

This issue occurs because Chrome OS client requires a non-null value for "DNS Domains" that is configured in the PCS device. This is configured under Resource Policies > VPN Tunneling Connection Profiles > [Profile Name] > DNS Settings

To resolve this issue, please follow one of the steps below:

• Under the VPN Tunneling Connection Profiles, if Manual DNS Settings is selected, configure DNS Domain(s) with appropriate Internal DNS domain names
• If PCS DNS Settings is selected, configure the DNS Domains(S) under System > Network > Overview
