Synopsis
This article describes an issue where wireless suppression remains enabled when a wired adapter is disconnected with Pulse Secure Desktop client.
Problem or Goal
When the wired connection is disconnected or removed, the end user will notice wireless suppression remains enabled and will continue to disable all wireless connections. This will cause no network connectivity via wireless connections for the end user.

In the debuglog.log, the following entries will appear stating the Microsoft Loopback adapter is detected as a wired connection:

Since loopback will always remain connected, it will cause wireless suppression to remain enabled at all times.

Cause
This issue occurs due to Microsoft loopback adapter is being detected as a wired connection causing wireless suppression to remain enabled at all times.
 
Solution
Pulse Secure has identified the root cause during detection and has implemented a code fix for Pulse Desktop Client 5.3R3 and above.

Workaround: 

  • Using Device Manager, disable the Microsoft Loopback Adapter
