KB41015 - Lease licensing fails with "License Server Protocol Error: Code=(0x23) Error="No Such Client""

This article describes an issue where license client fails with the following message "License Server Protocol Error: Code=(0x23) Error="No Such Client"".

When attempting to perform a lease, the following message will appear in the event log:

License Server Protocol Error: Code=(0x23) Error="No Such Client"

This issue occurs when the lease client id configured on the license client does not match any lease client id on the license server.

To confirm the lease client id on the license server, perform the following steps:

1. Login to the license server
2. Navigate to Configuration > Licensing > Configure Clients
3. In the License client section, under Client Name column, each lease client id will be listed
4. If a new client needs to be configured, click New Client and configure each value accordingly to the license client

To confirm the lease client id on the license client, perform the following steps:

1. Login to the admin console
2. Navigate to Configure > Licensing > Configure Server
3. In the Lease Client ID, confirm the value is correct

Note: Ensure the license server IP/hostname is set correctly (if multiple license server exists)
