Synopsis
This article describes an issue where Error:-3 message appears while trying to provision a new domain for Pulse One (On-Premise).
Problem or Goal
Given the recommended steps are followed as per the documentation, at this point we should be able to provision the now domain.
However we may also observe that even though the DNS is working properly, i.e. the devices is able to reach the DNS, it is able to resolve all the three names as suggested in the documentation, the provisioning fails with the above mentioned error.
Cause
This issue occurs due to incorrect or incomplete recommended DNS settings during the provisioning process. After the Pulse One provisioning process is complete, Pulse One will try to reach out to each DNS entry and produce the following error message if unable to resolve each DNS entry.

Solution
To verify the network setting, perform the following steps:
  1. Access the Pulse One (On-Premise) instance via serial console
  2. Via terminal window, run the following command:
Pulse One > network show

Please confirm the following:
  1. Confirm the hostname field matches the FQDN configured in the DNS server
  2. Confirm the hostname field matches the common name of the device certificate
If these fields are corrected, try to provision the domain again.
