Synopsis
This article describes an issue with JSAM is not using the configured loopback addresses after upgrading to 8.3R3.
Problem or Goal
After upgrading to 8.3R3 and above, JSAM is not using the configured loopback addresses when Pulse Secure Application Launcher (PSAL) is used to launch JSAM.
Cause
The issue occurs due to a behavior change utilizing Pulse Secure Application Launcher (PSAL) instead of Java plugin in 8.3R3.

This issue is applicable to all browsers except when launching via Internet Explorer 11.
Solution
This issue is triggered if the Description field is empty or contains any spaces.

Workaround:

  • Make the Description a single word comprising only of letters. 
  • Use Automatic host-mapping option under User Roles > [Role Name] > SAM > Options.  For more information, refer to Specifying Role Level JSAM Options.
  • Use Internet Explorer 11 to launch JSAM.
