Synopsis
This article provides the steps to enable the option to "Allow Javascript from Apple Events" in Mac OS X 10.11.5 and up in order to support the Pulse desktop client.
Problem or Goal
Pulse desktop client fails to connect on Mac OS X 11.10.5 and up.
Cause
Due to changes in Mac OS X update 10.11.5 and up, the option to "Allow Javascript from Apple events" was disabled.  This prevents certain functionality from executing properly when running the Pulse desktop client due to dependencies on Javascript.  
Solution
On Mac OS X 10.11.4 and below:
The option to Allow Javascript for Apple Events is enabled by default.

On Mac OS X 10.11.5 and up:
Follow the below steps to manually enable Allow Javascript for Apple Events 
 
  1. Launch Safari
  2. From the menu, click Safari > Preferences

  1. Select the Advanced settings.
  2. At the bottom of the list of options, enable the option to Show Develop menu in menu bar

  1. The Develop option will now be visible in the Safari menu bar.

  1. From the Safari menu, click Develop.
  2. Click to enable Allow JavaScript from Apple Events.
