This article describes an issue where Windows 7 endpoints with Windows Defender 6.X installed receive an error message when trying to connect to VPN with ESAP V4.
Problem or Goal
The Windows 7 has the Windows Defender as 'Spyware and Unwanted Software', This is causing an issue with users trying to connect to VPN as ESAP V4 Package as Windows 7 does not list the Windows Defender 6.x as an anti-virus.
On other versions of Windows, Windows Defender is an Anti-Spyware Product. This can be checked by taking a look at the Security Tab in Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Action Center. If the machine does not have an AV Product, then please ask the administrator to configured Windows Defender as an "Spyware and Unwanted Software Protection", not in "Virus Protection", to help avoid the error message.
