Synopsis
This article describes an issue where SAML authentication remains in a constant loop when the embedded browser feature is enabled for Pulse Desktop Client 9.0R1.
Problem or Goal
When the embedded browser feature is enabled with Pulse Desktop Client 9.0R1 using the default sign-in url, the SAML authentication remain in a constant loop and never completes.
Cause
This was due to an issue where the session cookie is not properly retrieved from the embedded browser session.

This issue is only applicable to Pulse Desktop Client 9.0R1 only.
Solution
To resolve this problem, please upgrade to Pulse Desktop Client 9.0R2 or above.

Workaround:

  • Login using a browser first before launching the Pulse Desktop Client.
