KB44069 - When creating an Appliance Configuration Group for Pulse One (On-Premise) 1844, Pulse One will fail to create the group with the message of "Capability for appliances.configdist not enabled"

This article describes an issue where Pulse One (On-Premise) 1844 will fail to create the Appliance Configuration Group with the message of "Capability for appliances.configdist not enabled".

When attempting to create the Appliance Configuration Group with Pulse One (On-Premise) 1844, the administrator will complete the wizard and prompted with the error message of:

Capability for appliances.configdist not enabled

This error occurs for only Pulse One (On-Premise) 1844 for the following reasons:

• Configuration Distribution license is not installed
• Configuration Distribution license is installed, but services restart has not occurred

This issue is not applicable to Pulse One (Cloud).

To resolve this problem, perform the following steps:

1. Install the Configuration Distribution license via the serial console.  If the license string is required, please reach out to Pulse Secure Customer Care to obtain the license string.
2. Restart services for the Pulse One (On-Premise) device via the serial console and attempt to create the Appliance Configuration Group again.
