Synopsis
This article describes the availability of FIPS compliant Pulse Desktop Client for Windows/macOS from 9.1R11 to 9.1R15.
Problem or Goal
The Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 140-2, is a U.S. government computer security standard used to approve cryptographic modules.

The Pulse Desktop Clients available under Maintenance -> System -> Installers until 9.1R10 are FIPS compliant as well.

However, from 9.1R11 to 9.1R15, these Pulse Desktop clients listed under the installers will not be FIPS compliant.
Cause
This is due to an OpenSSL dependency.
Solution
Customers who need the FIPS Compliant Pulse Clients for these versions can download it from https://my.pulsesecure.net.

Alternatively, admins can upload the FIPS Compliant Pulse Client package to PCS/PPS servers to make them available to end-usersthe  via browser download method or auto-upgrade notification method.

Note:
  • Irrespective of FIPS compliant or not, the Pulse Desktop clients can connect successfully to FIPS enabled PCS Server based on the negotiated Cipher.
  • From Ivanti Secure Access Client 22.2R1 onwards, we will continue to provide a single client which will be FIPS compliant as well.
