This article summarizes defines agent less and agent based host checker.
Problem or Goal
1) What is Agent-less Host Checker ?

Ans: When the endpoints trying to connect PCS through browser (User-Agent should be a browser Chrome,Edge,Internet Explorer) to download a Host Checker i.e ESAP package- Endpoint Security Assessment Plug-in to run the Endpoint Security  Compliance.

The unified SDK file downloaded under C:\Users\deep\AppData\Roaming\Pulse Secure\Host Checker\OPSWAT\UnifiedSDK 
 
Note: For Agent-less Host Checker always downloads the Active ESAP package set on the PCS server.

2)  What is Agent-based Host Checker ?

Ans: When the endpoints trying to connect PCS through Pulse-Client to download the Host Checker i.e ESAP package Endpoint Security Assessment Plug-in to run the Endpoint Security  Compliance. 

The unified SDK file downloaded under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Pulse Secure\TNC Client Plugin\OPSWAT\UnifiedSDK 
 
Note: When you connect multiple PCS server with different ESAP packages. It always keep the higher version of the ESAP package in the Endpoint machine. Until unless you have set the "Option force esap on the client side".
