KB44787 - Host Checker fails for the below listed Methods & Products even though they are in the supported ESAP version.

This article describes a scenario where Host Checker fails for certain products & some of their methods.
Problem or Goal
ESAP upgrade fails when upgrading from any previous version to 3.7.0 up to 3.7.8. This issue can also occur during any ESAP upgrades between 3.7.0 & 3.7.8 as well.

Due to this failure, if the end users are expecting any new fixes/version support for the following Products and their associated methods in the new ESAP version, their Host Check would fail.

Note :
  • This is applicable to ESAP downgrades as well.
  • Due to no error/warning, the users will not be aware of this issue.
  • This issue affects both Browser & Pulse Desktop Client users.

A certain ESAP integrated component is used only when needed in a variety of methods. When any of these methods are called this component is loaded and certain library files cannot be unloaded, causing the issue at hand. 

The component in question has been placed into a separate process which will be closed when its task is completed and therefore, will not give rise to this problem.

This issue is resolved in ESAP 3.7.8 or later. This means upgrade to any ESAP version from ESAP 3.7.8 will not give rise to this issue.

Workaround: (This is a one-time activity only).
  1.     Browser users can Sign-out & Sign in to resolve the issue.
  2.     Pulse Desktop users can restart Pulse services or reboot the machine.
