Synopsis
This article describes the issue when the Certificate host checker fails with reason "Machine certificate validation failed (50)".
Problem or Goal
The Host Checker is configured for the validation of a machine certificate.
When users access via browser, they receive the following host checker failure reason :

Cause
The validation failure occurs due to absence of Trusted Client CA in the PCS.
Solution
In order to resolve this for successful host checker validation, please follow the below steps :
 
Login to PCS admin console.
Navigate to System > Configuration > Certificates > Trusted Client Cas.
Click "Import CA certificate" and import the issuer of the certificate used by the user machine.
