Synopsis
This article describes the issue of the Custom registry policy not supporting blank lines in the registry value.
Problem or Goal
If a Host checker policy for comparing strings is created and there are any blank lines in the registry value, Host Checker fails.

A blank line sample is as follows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\host checker]
"test"="This is a test hostchecker policy"
The following images illustrate the custom registry policy for Host Checker:

Cause
Solution
If Host Checker is configured to compare the string value, it will work fine. But, if the registry value that is being pushed BY GPO has to be checked and that registry value has blank lines, then Host Checker will not be able to pass and it will fail.

In PCS, you cannot modify the value of the strings. You can just copy and paste the string value; if the string value has any blank lines in the data, the PCSwill treat that blank line as space and will create its own hash value. So, the hash value will get mismatched and the host checker policy will fail.
