Synopsis
This article describes the issue where Route Precedence on MAC is not working for default gateway if route preference is set to tunnel routes.
Problem or Goal
  • If the default gateway IP is added in split tunnel network and route preference is set to tunnel routes then traffic for default gateway is going directly not via VPN.
  • Issue is only on seen on Mac device and Windows works as expected.
Cause
On windows when VPN is connected the routes are being added as lower metric but MacOS doesn't support metric and it fails to add the route with below error: 
00118,09 2022/12/21 12:42:34.011 2 root dsAccessService dsTMService p1062 t12117 platform.cpp:967 - 'RM' Route already exists

 
Solution
Ivanti is aware of the issue and is actively working on a fix, we suggest to monitor this KB and we will be actively updating once we have further information/workaround or solution.
