What version of Pulse Secure Desktop client will support Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)?
Pulse Secure Desktop client is supported in Pulse 5.1R5.1.

What if I find an issue. Will Pulse Secure support assist?
If you have a use-case or issue that is not listed in this article and you are running Pulse 5.1R5.1, please open a technical support case here and Pulse Secure will review it.  All other versions were not qualified with Mac OS X 10.11 and may not work properly.


Known Issues:
  • PRS-328228:  Unable to connect with Pulse Secure Desktop client due to unable to validate certificate.  This issue is resolved in Pulse 5.1 R5.1.

The workaround is:

  1. From each KB article, copy the context from the text box including the "-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----" and "-----END CERTIFICATE-----" and save as a text file.
  2. Open spotlight search and search for "KeyChain Access"
  3. In left pane, click System.
  4. Drag and drop the text files to the keychain window.
  5. You should see the certificate name "VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certificate Authority - G5" (expires 2021) and "VeriSign Code Signing 2010 CA" appears.  Double-click each certificate
  6. From the certificate information window, click the arrow by "Trust"
  7. From the "When using this certificate" drop down, select "Always Trust"
  8. The certificate should have a blue + icon now which confirms the certificate is now trusted by the system.
