KB44166 - "License server low-level protocol error, server=, Code = [6] :Could not resolve host name" generated on license client

This article describes an error message on license clients  "License server low-level protocol error, server=, Code = [6] :Could not resolve host name"

When an admin attempts to pull the license state from the license server on the license client the following error is getting generated in the event logs:

Node1 - [127.0.0.1] Root::System()[] - License server low-level protocol error, server=, Code = [6] :Could not resolve host name

 

This issue occurs due to the DNS server configured on the license client is unable to resolve the name of the license server

To resolve this problem, ensure the license client is able to resolve the hostname of the license server (either via DNS or hostname entry)
