How is Username/Password data stored and protected on macOS when users save login information with the Pulse Desktop Client?


This article explains how a user's login information is protected with the Pulse Desktop Client for macOS. The article provides details on how the saved credentials for the Pulse client are stored and protected on the endpoint.
Problem or Goal
The Pulse Desktop Client can be configured to allow end users to save their login information for their Pulse connections by selecting the Save Settings option after entering their username/password while logging into Pulse.
Cause
Solution
 For macOS, the Pulse Desktop Client stores the credentials in the keychain. It is labeled "Pulse Secure" and the password type is "Application" as shown below
